In 2012, 20% of CGW students were accepted to selective enrollment high schools—the most at any non-selective/non-magnet South Side school.

Student Resources

Students have access to an ever-growing list of resources to help advance their learning. Below you will find a selection of online resources that can be used by students, teachers, parents, and families.

Websites for Learning

CGW uses a number of websites and services, designed to help students acquire critical literacy, math, science, and technology skills. Students can use these websites in school or at home. You must have a username and password to access these sites. Ask your teacher if you need help.

Gmail (Google Apps for Education)
Gmail enables e-mail services for our students Grades 6-12. (Parental consent required for students under age 13)

Google Drive (formerly Google Docs)
Google Drive allows students to collaboratively create documents, spreadsheets and presentations. (Parental consent required for students under age 13)

Compass Learning
Compass Learning is an online practice and formative assessment tool that helps students practice and master specific learning skills. The system is directly connected to the NWEA MAP testing system, and provides personlized learning paths for each student based on their own test results.

Study Island
Study Island provides access to online lessons, exercises, and games based on Common Core State Standards.
