Pearls with Power is a six session, signature program made possible by the UEI Partners Committee of the University of Chicago Women’s Board. The program is designed to give the young women of UCW High School an opportunity to develop and enhance the professional skills that they need to succeed in college, careers, and life.
The program provides an opportunity for eleventh-grade girls attending UCW to practice networking, presentation, time management, financial planning, and other skills for success. It also provides our students with opportunities to meet successful women in business and community-based organizations and develop an extended support community they can tap into as they continue their journey through high school, to college, and beyond. A Pearls with Power alumna described these opportunities as deeply impactful for her when she said, “It’s powerful for you to be around so many hardworking women. They show that, even if you’re the only one to believe in who you are, there is no reason you shouldn’t try.”
We are thrilled to share that the Pearls with Power program will return in the spring of the 2019-20 school year thanks to a grant from the University of Chicago Women’s Board. Stay tuned for details on this year’s Pearls with Power programming!
