All completed applications may be submitted via email to admissions@uchicagocharter.org or sent via postal mail to: Admissions Office, University of Chicago Charter School, 1313 E. 60th Street, Chicago, IL 60637. We do not accept faxed applications.

If my child is selected for admission, is he or she automatically enrolled?

No, if your child is selected for admission, you will be notified via email asking you to accept admission through our online application portal, SchoolMint, complete the remaining online registration forms, submit required documentation online, and pay a non-refundable school fee. Please watch for this email notification. You will lose your seat and be replaced by someone on our wait list if you fail to respond by the deadline.

Applicants receive sibling priority if siblings are currently attending any UChicago Charter School campus. Siblings must share at least one legal parent/guardian.

If your child is not selected for admission, then your child will be placed on a wait list. We will offer enrollment to students on the wait list as spots become available.

Students must be 4 years old by or on 9/1/2020 to start pre-kindergarten at the UChicago Charter School.

Students are admitted through a random lottery, taking into consideration sibling and attendance boundary priorities.

The lottery is open to the public and The UChicago Charter School’s Admissions Office sends emails to all applicants. No information will be provided by phone. For 2024-25 admissions, emails will be sent to all applicants the evening of the lottery event on March 21, 2024.

Based on your child’s wait list number, admission priority status, and choice of campus, parents/guardians will be notified by telephone and/or email when spaces become available.

The school day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (3:40 p.m. at the UChicago Charter Woodlawn campus). All campuses have an early dismissal on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m.
